When searching for a real estate agent to help me with my short sale, I contacted a number of agents asking them about their experience with short sales, including the HAFA process. They all came back that they were very experienced, but their answers to my questions were either wrong or non-existent.

All of them, that is, except for Sam. He answered my questions – correctly and accurately. He was honest and forthright in his replies. He clearly understood the HAFA process and requirements of the bank and the investors. He immediately put me at ease, and we made an appointment for him to came out to look at my condo and discuss options with me.

At that appointment, he did a thorough evaluation of my condo, the market value, the sales options, and discussed it with me in depth. He was realistic in terms of the value, time frame, and all matters related to the sale. In fact, I had a sales contract on my condo within the time frame he predicted and within the range of the sales price he estimated. His accuracy with these items made the HAFA process go much more quickly with the bank, since he had already done the legwork.

As with any short sale, there is a lot of paperwork and questions from the bank and investors that arise unexpectedly, and at the most inconvenient times. Sam was very responsive to these issues, handling them timely and with great care. He followed up with the bank on a weekly basis (sometimes more often than that) and kept me updated regarding his progress. His handling of the issues and explaining them to me in a patient and caring fashion, helped me to not only understand the process and what was needed, but helped allay my concerns as well.
